Aaji Shanta Balu Pawar, a warrior from Pune founded a martial arts academy at the age of 84

Shanta Balu Pawar, of Pune, built a martial arts academy when she was 84 years old. Shanta is a street performer, martial arts instructor, and the sole earner for her 20-person family.
Who says that life stops in old age and elderly people have nothing much to do. 86-year-old street performer, Shanta Balu Pawar, founded an institution to teach martial arts and self-defense to the youth of Pune. This school came into being in 2020, after her performance video went popular on social media. Shanta established the school with the enormous assistance of netizens, including celebrities such as Sonu Sood and Riteish Deshmukh.
Shanta is a well-known figure on the streets of Pune. She has been practising lathi-kathi and tightrope walking since she was eight years old. And even at the age of 86, neither her vigour nor her dexterity have waned.
This 'warrior aaji' performs in the Gosavi Vasti neighbourhood, and her incredible talent also helps feed her 20-member family.
Shanta did not stay a street performer after establishing her institution, where she also taught martial arts. However, the spread of the coronavirus has hampered her work, forcing her to return to the streets to make a livelihood. During the lockdown, her son also lost his work, leaving the octogenarian as the only paying member of her family.
Overcoming hurdles, on the other hand, serves as a type of energy booster for Shanta. Her powerful and beautiful movements have never failed to astound. Shanta, who is not a stay at home person who is comfortable doing nothing. The furious woman says, "Until these kids get their aaji, they won't have to worry about going hungry."
Shanta was, interestingly, also part of a 1972 movie that starred Hema Malini and Dharmendra. That film was called Seeta Aur Geeta.
