CM Uddhav announces end of masks, other Covid restrictions from Gudi Padwa
Maharashtra imposed tight Covid-19 restrictions, during last year's Ganesh Chaturthi. The state is now removing all these restrictions including masks on Gudi Padwa. Maharashtra, which was hardest hit by Covid, will lift all pandemic-related restrictions on Saturday, as the state celebrates the Marathi New Year. According to the government of Maharashtra, masks will be advised but not needed. Masks are no longer considered "necessary" in Bengal or Delhi, while their use is recommended in congested locations. The news came from the office of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
