CM Uddhav Thackeray to open 2 new Mumbai Metro lines on Gudi Padva
Uddhav Thackeray is due to open two new Mumbai Metro lines to the public. The Maharashtra Chief Minister is expected to open the lines on Gudi Padva, the New Year of Maharashtra. Nearly 8 years after the country's financial capital received its initial east-west Mumbai Metro One route, two more lines are slated to be partially available to the public in the near future. On the important Maharashtrian New Year Day, Gudi Padva, on April 2, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will open the two new Mumbai Metro lines for public use, a top official said on Monday. "The two metro lines will be a driverless train operation known as BTC, commuter-friendly, and would be opened by the CM," MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner SVS Srinivas said.
