Boris Johnson has announced a £1 billion deal that will generate nearly 11,000 jobs for Indians. The agreement was announced by the British Prime Minister on his maiden two-day visit to India after being elected to the post. During his first two-day visit to  India since being elected, Boris Johnson, the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, announced a £1 billion agreement. Up to 11,000 employments will be created under the deal for Indians across the UK, according to the country's high commission on Thursday. Speaking on April 21, the UK High Commission stated, "Today, more than £1 billion in new investments and export deals will be confirmed between British and Indian in sectors ranging from software engineering to health. This will create nearly 11,000 jobs throughout Britain." Defence Ministry to support Indian tech startups through new DISC Challenge

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has started the sixth edition of the Defence Indian Startup Challenge (DISC) under the iDEX program. The MoD aims to support Indian tech startups through the challenge. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) will back startups that can provide the Indian military with software solutions such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), advanced imaging, sensor systems, big data analytics, autonomous unmanned systems, and secure communication systems through the sixth edition of the Defence Indian Startup Challenge (DISC) under the iDEX program. The MoD intends to encourage Indian businesses through this obstacle by providing financial assistance ranging from INR 1.5 Cr to INR 10 Cr. The challenge is being led by seven newly formed defense firms, the Indian Coast Guard, organizations working under the Ministry of Home Affairs, three services, and several defense public sector undertakings. Amazon acquires GlowRoad to compete with Shopsy, Meesho

Amazon has acquired GlowRoad, a social commerce startup which is focused on women. With the deal, Amazon would compete with Flipkart's Shopsy platform and social commerce firms like Meesho Amazon is putting a lot of money on social commerce, or the use of social network groups to boost e-commerce purchases. According to estimates, social commerce will be a $70 billion industry opportunity in the next years. On Friday, the e-commerce behemoth announced the acquisition of GlowRoad, a women-focused social commerce business based in the United States, for an unknown sum. 28th Commemoration of Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda New Delhi, 07 April 2022

On 7 April 2022, the India Africa Trade Council jointly with the High Commission of Rwanda in New Delhi organized physically the Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The Commemoration was attended by an estimate of 150 people, mostly members of the African diplomatic corps, Government Officials from the Ministry of External Affairs of India and Government of Delhi and members of the academia and business community. The Commemoration ceremony was marked by lighting 28 candles by the diplomatic community including Ambassadors/High Commissioners and diplomats from various African and non-African countries followed a minute of silence. The program was conducted at Niryat Bhawan, New Delhi where a documentary on the Genocide against the Tutsi was shown along with mourning songs.
